God’s Gift

10 Aug

Every Sunday is family day for me. However, this past Sunday we did things a little differently and went out to see the Dragon Boat Festival in Flushing instead of our regular “spending time at home,” chillaxing days. 🙂

The festival was quite boring to be honest. I expected a lot more activities but all I saw were long lines of Asian people trying to get “freebies.” My dad and uncle were bored out of their minds and the older generation of Chinese people despise the sun. (They were literally hiding under trees.)

We ended up going to eat at Joe’s Shanghai, which is famous for their soup dumplings. Eating is my family’s number one favorite thing to do. I’m not kidding… if there’s food, there’s guaranteed smiles all around.

Outfit for my day out:

Top: Forever21
Shorts: Hollister
Wedges: NY&Co.
Purse: Thrifted

“We don’t choose our families. They’re God’s gift to us, as we are to them.”

Great outfit for a day out! Those wedges are gorgeous and they look comfortable, and the printed top and camel coloured purse are perfect for touches of interest.

It’s so great to hear that you spend time with your family regularly. 😀

    Happy Friday!

We have dragon boat festivals over here too! And they are usually populated by either Asians looking for freebies or old white guys looking for Asian chicks… rather disappointing. I love your outfit!

Love the crisp white shorts on you! And that bag is terrific…I can’t believe it’s thrifted. I can never find anything nearly that cute or useful.
